Happy Birthday to the Game of Sprouts!

Today is very likely the 40th birthday of the game of sprouts. The game was invented at the University of Cambridge in the year 1967 by Mike Paterson and John Conway. In response to our inquiries, Dr. Paterson writes, “I didn't make a record of this important event at the time, but working back from later evidence I think it must have been February 21, a Tuesday teatime, for sure.”
