Stefan Reiss is the creator of sprouts software that has won high praise from Josh Jordan (the sprouts star formerly known as Josh Purinton):

Wow, this program provides a great GUI for playing sprouts! It's the one of the most impressive things I've seen in a while - it actually adjusts the graph gently as you play so that it's easy to keep making moves.

and

The program has an AI that apparently plays perfect normal sprouts on games of up to initial 8 spots. It also has an option to randomize the starting position by making random moves from the initial spots. This really has to be seen to be believed.
