Jeff Peltier's early handling of the switch battle that erupts from Roman Khorkov's serve of 26+, an analogue of 8+, seems adroit, and he appears to have great chances to get the even number of switchmen he needs to win this fight. But when Khorkov abruptly resolves a switch, it is clear that things have gone badly amiss for Right. Khorkov still has to extract the expected odd number of survivors from spots 11 - 26, but his muscular technique proves equal to the task.

This loss in a minimalist setting puts maximal pressure on Peltier, who will need to win the next game in order to keep the match alive.
