Meanwhile, Back in the Pack

Having long since glimpsed the distant back of Roman Khorkov crossing the finish line in glory, the remaining hardened veterans and newcomer Barack McCain have continued to struggle forward, elbows flying, in a remarkably tightly bunched competition for second place honors in the WGOSA 2008 championship. Today Danny Purvis finished his tournament and assured himself at least a portion of silver by winning his serve against Jeff Peltier. Having only broken even in the tournament, he might be joined by zero, one, or two of the three remaining players with games still unfinished, depending on how those various games turn out. None of the remaining three competitors have been eliminated from possibly sharing second place.
