Josh Jordan Triumphs!

January 18, 2011

Josh Jordan and Aunt Beast won their match with Roman Khorkov and, as expected, that match ultimately decided WGOSA 2010. Congratulations to our new cyborgian WGOSA champion! Josh's success is the culmination of years of effort, effort that has contributed deeply to sprouts culture, not only on the computer side but in the improvement of human play as well.

Congratulations to Roman also, who retains his world championship for at least another year. As in chess, the world championship is for humans only. Our current convention is that a person becomes a sanctioned challenger by being the top human finisher ahead of the world champion in the yearly WGOSA tournament. Danny Purvis gave it a nice try but was blocked when James Cook, with a little help from Glop and some homegrown software, took his first tournament scalp.
